Twice a year Sarah opens her studio to teach Hawkshead House Courses in her beautiful home on the edge of the English Lake District.
This two day course requires no prior knowledge of sewing (or even the ability to thread a needle) and you will cover the following:
Discussion on curtain design, measuring a window; estimating fabric requirements for plain and patterned fabric; pattern matching and starting to make up a curtain sample using a variety of stitches.
Completing a hand-sewn lined, pattern-matched and weighted curtain sample with mitred corners on a pencil pleat heading tape; hanging and dressing the curtain.
This course is suitable for the absolute beginner but is also designed for home-sewers who wish to learn more professional techniques and finishes. It is a great stepping stone to the Intermediate Curtain Making and Roman Blind Making courses.
